I started playing guitar at around 8 years old and continued for several years before joining a band. Initially, I was the lead guitarist, but over time, I transitioned to being the frontman while also writing songs.

During this period, we played gigs in my hometown of Lanark and the surrounding areas. My major influences growing up were Noel Gallagher, Johnny Marr, and Liam Fray. It was through these live performances that I realised I wanted to pursue music as a career.

After leaving school, I decided to attend university, where I met the rest of the band. I asked each member to perform as a session musician at one of my gigs, and from that, Mixed Signals started. It felt like the perfect fit for us and I’ve loved it so far.
